Modernizing a world famous photo-op
Wildly successful, the re-created Beverly Hills sign is the Instagram-worthy landmark for millions of visitors to Beverly Hills. Set within a lush, linear park system along Santa Monica Boulevard, the sign was commissioned by the Rotary Club for the City’s Golden 100th Anniversary. Withers & Sandgren with Young Signage Co. designed and constructed the fountain, surrounding landscape and sign for the City of Beverly Hills.
The original lettering outlined in light bulbs has been modernized with golden letters arching across a green structural frame. Tiffany globe lights flank the sign, completing “the look” from archival photographs of the original design. The location’s instant popularity has since prompted the City to further re-create the historic lily pond that graced the sign in the early 1900’s.
